Yeongdeok-gun Tourism Promotion Council Holds 'Trend Yeongdeok 2025 Talk Show'
Seeking Ways to Develop the Local Tourism Industry
with the Opening of the Donghae Line Railway
The Yeongdeok-gun Tourism Promotion Council in Gyeongbuk held the 'Trend Yeongdeok 2025 Talk Show' on the 12th at the Yeongdeok-gun Office main conference room to coincide with the opening of the Donghae Jungbu Line railway. The event aimed to improve the local tourism infrastructure and discover ideas to promote the development of the tourism industry.
About 50 local tourism stakeholders attended the talk show, including the Yeongdeok Rural New Vitality Project Action Group, Yeongdeok DMO, Yeongdeok Resident Travel Agency Malgeum, and Yeongdeok Culture and Tourism Foundation.
In the first part, which featured presentations on strategies to improve tourism, proposals were made addressing local tourism issues, expanding tourism marketing, gourmet travel linked to local food, and policies to activate wellness tourism through nature and ecological exploration.
During the second part, which involved in-depth discussions on tourism development following the opening of the central section of the Donghae Line, suggestions were made to improve tourism transportation for railway tourists and other pedestrians, as well as to develop various programs to attract tourists.
Jo Won-tae, chairman of the Yeongdeok-gun Tourism Promotion Council, stated, “It is a key element for sustainable development that local residents directly participate in tourism activation policies to discover effective programs,” expressing his intention to regularly hold forums for public-private communication in the future.

Governor Kim Kwang-yeol said in his greeting, “We plan to actively carry out tourism marketing projects such as tourism taxis and incentives for group tourists,” adding, “We will actively support resident-led tourism councils like today’s to effectively utilize local tourism resources and seek continuous development plans.”
