Korea-Guyana Air Agreement Enters into Force "Foundation for South America Expansion"
"Expected to Lay the Foundation for Korean Airlines' Entry into South America"
The air transport agreement between South Korea and Guyana came into effect on the 13th.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from this day, the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana on Air Services between their Territories and Beyond" has been enforced. This follows the signing of the agreement last December and the completion of domestic procedures in both countries for its enforcement in January.
The air transport agreement between the two countries establishes a legal framework regulating the scope of air traffic rights, designation and authorization of airlines, suspension and restriction of rights, safety and security, enabling the opening of air routes and transportation activities between the two countries.
With the enforcement of this agreement, it is expected to promote human and material exchanges between the two countries and lay the foundation for Korean airlines to enter the South American aviation market.
