Wang Yi to Visit Japan for the First Time Since 2020
Foreign ministers of Korea, China, and Japan to discuss cooperation in Tokyo next month
According to the Asahi Shimbun on the 13th, the governments of Korea, China, and Japan have entered final coordination to hold the Korea-China-Japan Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Tokyo on the 22nd of next month.
Multiple Japanese government officials informed Asahi that Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol and Wang Yi, Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office of the Chinese Communist Party and Foreign Minister, will visit Japan from the 21st to the 23rd to discuss with Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi the promotion of human exchange through tourism, cooperation in response to low birthrates and aging populations, among other topics.
Wang Yi's visit to Japan marks the first since the Korea-China Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in Tokyo in November 2020.
