Jung Sik Food announced on the 13th that it has introduced autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) at its Cheongju factory to establish an automated logistics transfer system.
This introduction of autonomous mobile robots is part of the "2024 Service Robot Demonstration Project" led by the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement, with Jung Sik Food and Yujin Robot selected as the lead company and participating company, respectively. Through this project, Jung Sik Food has enhanced production efficiency by automating logistics lines and laid the foundation for building a smart factory integrated with upper-level systems.

The factory introduced five units of Yujin Robot’s 1.5-ton payload autonomous mobile robot model "GoCart1500."
By introducing autonomous mobile robots, Jung Sik Food replaced the existing unmanned guided vehicles (AGVs) and forklifts within the pallet transfer line, resulting in a 20% improvement in logistics production operation rate. Additionally, the risk of collisions, which could occur when AGVs, forklifts, and workers operate in the same space, was significantly reduced, enabling more flexible responses to future process changes and additional production lines.
