Suwon-si Conducts Safety Inspections at Construction Sites During Thawing Season
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province is conducting safety inspections at construction sites in preparation for the thawing season.
From the 17th of this month to the 7th of next month, Suwon City will carry out inspections at 53 construction sites within its jurisdiction, including safety advisory team inspections (14 sites), joint inspections with the Korea Land and Housing Safety Management Agency (15 sites), and self-inspections (24 sites). Additionally, a "visiting safety consulting" service will be provided to offer consultations on construction execution and safety-related matters.
The main inspection items include ▲whether safety management measures for the thawing season have been established ▲installation of drainage channels in earthwork sections and prevention of surface water inflow ▲appropriateness of temporary retaining wall installations and monitoring status of underground excavation sections ▲compliance with the Construction Technology Promotion Act related to quality, construction, and safety ▲deployment of construction technicians such as site representatives and resident supervisors.

A Suwon City official stated, "We will promptly correct minor issues or those that can be immediately improved," adding, "Through this inspection, we will thoroughly manage safety to eliminate risk factors in advance and prevent safety accidents from occurring."
