"Efforts and Achievements in Sustainable Management Recognized"
LG Electronics has been selected for the second consecutive year as a 'Top 1%' company in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) announced by the global credit rating agency S&P Global.
S&P Global categorizes companies that receive excellent evaluations based on the Corporate Sustainability Assessment, which comprehensively analyzes global companies' ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) performance by industry into Top 1%, 5%, and 10%. This evaluation was conducted on 7,690 companies across 62 industries.
LG Electronics scored the highest with 77 points among companies in the 'Home Appliances and Leisure Products' industry this year. Among all evaluated companies, 66 companies achieved the Top 1% rating in their respective industries, and only three domestic companies, including LG Electronics, received the Top 1% rating.
LG Electronics self-assessed that being named a Top 1% company for two consecutive years is recognition of its world-class ESG management leadership by a credible institution. These results are also used as indicators for investors in the capital market to gauge the level of corporate sustainability management and to make socially responsible investment decisions.
LG Electronics explained that it received industry-leading scores across various categories in this evaluation, recognizing its efforts and achievements in sustainable management. In particular, it received excellent evaluations in the environmental assessment for waste and pollutant management, energy use, and climate strategy; in the social assessment for human rights, supply chain management, and customer relations; and in the governance assessment for transparency and reporting.
Under the vision of ESG management activities called 'Better Life For All,' LG Electronics has established six ESG strategies: 3Cs for the planet (Carbon Neutrality, Circular Economy, Eco-friendly Technology) and 3Ds for people (Safe Workplace, Diversity and Inclusion, Accessibility of Products and Services), and is carrying out various activities accordingly.
