This event was organized to respond to the Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE), promote digital transformation (DX) and artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in manufacturing, and establish a sustainable cooperation system with local industries.

The seminar was attended by 25 participants including local manufacturing company representatives, AI and DX experts, and academic and research personnel, who discussed AI utilization cases and technology trends in the industrial field. In particular, presentations were made on AI-based smart factory implementation cases, manufacturing process automation, and productivity improvement through data analysis, along with in-depth discussions on technical challenges faced by companies and university support measures.

Additionally, during the preparation for RISE operation, a foundation was laid for planning and designing the university’s educational innovation direction suited to the digital transformation era, including ▲ nurturing AI and DX talent tailored to local manufacturers ▲ curriculum reform based on industrial demand ▲ and operation plans for industry-linked, practice-oriented educational programs.

Lim Jun-woo, Director of Industry-Academia Cooperation, stated, “We plan to share Gyeongnam Information University’s human and material resources with local industries and build a virtuous cycle structure that grows together with companies through AI and DX expert consultation.” He added, “We will actively support solving technical difficulties of local industries and nurturing AI talent by establishing an Industrial Innovation AI Center and strengthening governance.”

This seminar was evaluated as contributing to the adoption of AI and DX technologies by local companies and strengthening cooperation with universities. Moving forward, companies and the university will jointly promote technology development, and Gyeongnam Information University plans to enhance industry-academia-research cooperation and expand customized education and technical support for companies to strengthen regional industrial competitiveness.
