Former POSCO Chairman Kwon Oh-jun to Speak at 'Science Connecting the Times' Talk Concert
Former POSCO Group Chairman Kwon Oh-joon will appear as a speaker at the talk concert "Science, Connecting Eras" hosted by the Korea Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST).
KOFST announced that it will hold the talk concert "Science, Connecting Eras" at 10 a.m. on the 13th at the Korea Science and Technology Center.
This event is held quarterly in a dialogue format with experts who have made significant achievements in the domestic science and technology field, and the first speaker will be former POSCO Group Chairman Kwon Oh-joon.
Under the theme "Tracing Humanity's Journey through Steel," Yoon Ui-jun, President of the Korean Academy of Engineering, will serve as the moderator and engage in various discussions about humanity, steel, and the future with domestic steel industry experts.
Chairman Kwon graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering and earned a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in the United States. As a steel expert, he greatly contributed to the globalization of steel technology as well as the localization of core materials in secondary battery fields such as lithium.
For these achievements, Chairman Kwon received the "Korea's Top Scientist and Engineer Award" in 2016. Since then, he has authored books including "Seeing the World through Steel" and "Steel Odyssey."
