Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District (right), attended the 'Jeongwol Daeboreum Folk Games' event held on the evening of February 9th at the Anyangcheon riverside under Omokgyo Bridge, praying for the well-being of the residents throughout the year.
The festival began with an exciting pungmul performance, followed by various folk game experiences such as Yutnori, Jegichagi, and Tuho. Residents watched the giant 7-meter-high Daljip (moon house) burn at the finale of the event, wishing to burn away misfortune and pray for health and luck in the coming year.
The 'Jeongwol Daeboreum Folk Games' event, now in its 24th year, is the district's representative traditional cultural festival, providing a meaningful opportunity for many residents to experience seasonal customs together with family and neighbors. Various folk game events will continue throughout the district until the 16th.
