Lee Chae-woon (Surigo), the leading snowboarder of Korea, won the gold medal in the first event of the 2025 Harbin Winter Asian Games, the slopestyle.
Lee Chae-woon scored 90 points in the men's snowboard slopestyle final held on the 8th at the Yabuli Ski Resort in China, securing first place.
Born in 2006, Lee Chae-woon is the youngest ever to win the men's snowboard halfpipe at the 2023 International Ski Federation (FIS) World Championships at the age of 16 years and 10 months.
Last year, he also achieved a double crown by winning both the men's halfpipe and slopestyle at the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics held in Gangwon Province, Korea.
He initially planned to participate only in the halfpipe event at this Asian Games but applied to compete in slopestyle shortly before the competition. Lee Chae-woon comfortably won the gold medal, raising expectations for the halfpipe event scheduled from the 12th to the 13th.
