Incheon City Invests 8.4 Billion Won to Expand Old Downtown Parks and Improve Aging Facilities
Incheon City announced on the 7th that it will invest 8.45 billion KRW this year to expand parks in the original downtown area and improve aging facilities.
The city plans to secure parks lacking in the original downtown area and transform park sites that have failed to serve their purpose due to long-term non-implementation into citizen rest spaces. To this end, four projects will be promoted: Cheongnyang Neighborhood Park and Haknarae Neighborhood Park (Yeonsu-gu), Restoration of the Salamander Urban Ecological Park Urban Ecological Axis (Namdong-gu), and Saebeol Neighborhood Park (Gyeyang-gu), enabling citizens to conveniently use parks within their living areas.
Additionally, safety inspections and maintenance of playground facilities will be conducted at six aging parks: Yulmok Children's Park (Jung-gu), Hwadojin Park (Dong-gu), Samho Children's Park (Michuhol-gu), Yongnam Children's Park (Michuhol-gu), Dangha 2nd Children's Park (Seo-gu), and Wondang 4th Children's Park (Seo-gu). Previously, last year, playground facilities at Moegol Park (Bupyeong-gu) and Saemal Park (Seo-gu) were maintained.
At Sorae Wetland Ecological Park in Namdong-gu, a detour route will be created to improve accessibility, and the aging water play area at Nonhyeonbodae Neighborhood Park will also be refurbished. Along with this, three parks in Bupyeong-gu will have barefoot walking paths newly installed, and ten parks in Gyeyang-gu will have foot washing facilities and rest areas installed.
