Yangsan-si Expands Incentives for Sports Training Teams
Increased Support Amount per Team
Expectations for Revitalizing the Local Economy
Yangsan City (Mayor Na Dong-yeon), the mecca of training camps, is expanding incentives for training teams to revitalize the local economy.
The status of training teams hosted by Yangsan City shows that 3,954 people visited during the 2023 and 2024 winter seasons, and 4,764 people during the 2024 summer season. In particular, 6,351 people visited in the 2024-2025 winter season, marking a 37% increase compared to the previous year in the number of training teams visiting during the winter season.
Accordingly, the city has raised the support amount per training team from 2 million KRW to 2.5 million KRW and expanded the support items. Previously applied only to accommodation fees, the incentives now include the production of welcome banners, referee fees for friendly matches held by training teams, and have been extended from domestic teams to include foreign teams as well, effective from applications submitted in March.
This policy aims to expand exchanges with domestic and international sports teams and stimulate consumption in local commerce, lodging, and dining industries, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local economy. Through this, it is expected that various teams from home and abroad will visit Yangsan for training, enhancing both economic and tourism ripple effects and further promoting Yangsan’s appeal as a sports training destination.
