Nowon-gu Mayor Oh Seung-rok Shares Excellence of Hwarangdae Railroad Park with Ulsan Jung-gu Office
Nowon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced on the 6th that Kim Young-gil, Mayor of Jung-gu, Ulsan, Park Kyung-heum, Chairman of the Jung-gu Council, and 27 officials from Jung-gu Office visited Hwarangdae Railroad Park (Nowon Train Village, Train Cafe, Hwarangdae History Museum) for benchmarking purposes.
This visit was conducted to explore maintenance measures for the normal operation of model locomotives operated by Jung-gu, Ulsan, and to benchmark excellent cases of miniature train operations.
Hwarangdae Railroad Park is a unique themed space centered around the old Hwarangdae Station, preserving the section of the Gyeongchun Line railroad where operations were suspended in 2010, filled with attractions and activities themed around "trains." It offers miniature train exhibition and experience facilities suitable for both children and adults, as well as a unique themed cafe where miniature trains deliver coffee directly, providing visitors with a distinctive experience.
The visiting delegation from Jung-gu Office toured facilities such as the Nowon Train Village Miniature Hall and the Swiss Hall, listened to the current status of facility operations, and discussed operational plans.
After touring the first and second floors of the Train Cafe, they shared miniature train operation cases with Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, and related officials, exchanging opinions on maintenance and management plans that could be applied in the future.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, stated, "Hwarangdae Railroad Park is a representative local attraction selected for the 2023 Local 100 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism," adding, "I hope this visit will add new ideas to the operation of railroad facilities in Jung-gu, Ulsan, and provide an opportunity for residents to enjoy more diverse leisure activities."
