A Gathering Where Tradition Meets the Future
An intriguing international forum discussing education methods in the AI era was held at a Seowon where the classic text ‘Haneul Cheon, Ttang Ji’ was once studied.
Shilla University (President Heo Nam-sik) Graduate School of Education announced on the 6th that it successfully hosted the ‘International Forum for Innovation in Teacher Education in the AI Era.’
On the 5th, the forum, hosted by Shilla University Graduate School of Education and sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, was held at Namgang Seowon in Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province, with over 200 education experts from four countries including Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and Mauritius attending.

Following this, thematic presentations were given on △Key Questions Toward AI Digital Textbooks (AIDT) (Park Young-min, Teacher at KAIST Korea Science Academy) △The Future of Teaching and Learning at Nagano University with AI (Yoshikazu Yoshida, Vice President of Nagano University, Japan) △Lifelong Learning Strategies Using AI (Arvin R. De La Cruz, Dean of Graduate School, Polytechnic University of the Philippines Open University) △Research Results on Developing a Microdegree-type AI Digital Competency Enhancement Teacher Training Program (Lee Eun-hwa, Dean of Graduate School of Education, Shilla University).
