Paju City plans to focus inspections on all dust-generating business sites (741 locations) within the jurisdiction, checking whether dust generation business (changes) have been reported, whether soundproof and dustproof walls are installed, whether wheel washing facilities are operating normally, and whether dustproof covers are installed, to intensively manage air pollution emissions.

In addition, joint crackdowns will be conducted with the Paju Police Station, Korea Transportation Safety Authority, and others on motorcycles that disturb citizens' peaceful residential environment due to noise. This crackdown will focus on major noise-generating areas such as Unjeong New Town, Geumchon, and Munsan, inspecting for illegal modifications and compliance with noise regulations.

Environmental safety management inspections will be conducted on 17 children's activity spaces targeted for inspection this year to create an environment where children can play safely and with peace of mind.

Minor issues found during inspections will be corrected and improved on-site, while serious negligence will be subject to strong measures such as judicial and administrative actions. Follow-up management, including verification of administrative penalty compliance, will also be strengthened.

Last year, Paju City detected 48 dust-generating business sites violating related laws, 87 motorcycles violating safety standards such as illegal modifications, and 6 children's activity spaces violating environmental safety management standards, and took measures such as improvement orders.

Jo Yoon-ok, Director of the Climate Crisis Response Division, stated, “We will continue to conduct inspections in areas related to the living environment, such as dust-generating businesses, vehicles in operation, and children's activity spaces, to ensure that citizens can enjoy a peaceful and pleasant living environment.”
