Wanju County Promotes Hydrogen Vehicle Distribution Project to Improve Air Quality
35 Million KRW Subsidy Per Vehicle
Promoting Carbon Neutrality
Wanju County in North Jeolla Province announced on the 5th that it will promote a hydrogen vehicle supply project in 2025, aiming to vitalize the hydrogen economy and improve air quality.
This year, 30 hydrogen passenger vehicles are available in the first half, with a subsidy of 35 million KRW provided per vehicle.
Despite the upcoming release of new hydrogen passenger vehicle models in the second half of this year, 20 units for 2025 have already been applied for and exhausted as of January, so Wanju County has announced an additional 10 passenger vehicles.
Subsidy applications will be accepted until the budget is exhausted. Eligible applicants are individuals or corporations aged 19 or older who have been residents of Wanju County for at least one month as of the application date. Buyers can visit a hydrogen passenger vehicle dealership, sign a purchase contract, and then submit the subsidy application form and required documents.
A county official stated, "We will expand the supply of hydrogen vehicles to achieve both carbon neutrality and air quality improvement," adding, "We will also do our best to expand charging infrastructure so that residents can use hydrogen vehicles more conveniently."
Meanwhile, if the first half's allocation is exhausted, the county plans to secure a supplementary budget to supply 50 passenger vehicles and 15 buses.
