Buk-gu Gwangju Launches Spring Wildfire Prevention Headquarters
Intensive Response Until May 15
Utilizing AI CCTVs and Drones
Gwangju Buk-gu will launch intensive activities to prevent wildfires during the spring season until May 15.
Accordingly, the district announced on the 5th that it will establish a comprehensive wildfire prevention headquarters and strengthen measures such as expanding firefighting equipment, disseminating information in the event of a wildfire, and building a cooperative system with related agencies.
In particular, nine 'AI CCTVs' that immediately respond to sparks or smoke will be operated 24 hours a day. Drones will be used to detect embers or smoke in areas that are difficult to access for wildfire suppression.
Additionally, a team of 19 professional wildfire prevention and suppression personnel will monitor wildfire-prone areas, eliminate potential causes in advance, and deploy three mobile patrol teams for regional patrols.
Furthermore, an emergency communication system will be maintained at all times with related organizations such as Mudeungsan National Park, fire departments, police, and military units, and a cooperative system will be established to provide mutual support for firefighting resources such as helicopters in the event of a wildfire.
District Mayor Moon In said, "We will actively work to protect the lives and property of residents and create a safe Buk-gu."
