Investing 46.9 Billion KRW This Year
Focus on Smart Agriculture and Advanced Technologies
The Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services will invest 46.9 billion KRW this year in 159 projects to disseminate new agricultural technologies. The aim is to proactively respond to the rapidly changing agricultural environment.
According to the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services on the 5th, 11.1 billion KRW will be allocated to prevent damage from weather disasters and pests, and all efforts will be made to promote the spread of smart agriculture using advanced technologies.
To minimize damage caused by recent abnormal weather and pest outbreaks, monitoring will be strengthened in areas that are frequently affected, and 7.5 billion KRW will be invested in pest control.
By improving the 'Weather Disaster Information Service' system, the agency plans to increase its utilization among farmers and expand the number of users from 8,000 last year to 10,000 this year. In addition, 1.9 billion KRW will be invested in the safe disposal of agricultural by-products to smoothly operate the shredding support team for reducing fine dust and preventing wildfires.
Pilot operations of agricultural transport robots and pest control robots, as well as projects to monitor crop production environments based on ICT and data, will receive 3 billion KRW in funding to reduce agricultural labor and increase production efficiency.
This year's new technology dissemination projects will focus on increasing farm income and strengthening agricultural competitiveness, including: ▲70 sites for food crop self-sufficiency technology dissemination (7.2 billion KRW), ▲134 sites for fostering regional income crops and distributing superior horticultural crop varieties (16.9 billion KRW), ▲106 sites in the livestock technology sector (8.5 billion KRW), and ▲83 sites for the establishment of the Jeonnam Healing Agriculture Center and promotion of agricultural product processing startups (3.2 billion KRW).
