West Sea Coast Guard Urgently Transports Three Emergency Patients from Island Village
Using Patrol Vessels and Coastal Rescue Boats,
Patients Quickly Handed Over to 119 Emergency Teams
On the 3rd, the West Sea Regional Coast Guard Headquarters (Chief: Lee Myungjun) successfully fulfilled its role as the "ambulance of the sea" by urgently transporting three emergency patients from island villages.
According to the West Sea Coast Guard on the 4th, at around 1:37 p.m. on the 3rd, after receiving a report that resident A (female, in her 60s) of Jodo, Jindo-gun, was experiencing dizziness, the Coast Guard dispatched a patrol vessel and handed her over to the 119 emergency team waiting on land.

View original imageOn the same day, at 5:56 p.m., after resident B (in his 70s) of Hoenggando, Yeosu-si, complained of severe abdominal pain, a coastal rescue boat was dispatched, and both the patient and guardian were quickly transported to the mainland.
Earlier that day, at 11:14 a.m., patient C (in his 70s) from Cheongsando, Wando, suffering from chest pain, was safely transported to Wando Port, ensuring the health and safety of island residents.
A representative from the West Sea Coast Guard Headquarters stated, "We transported three emergency patients in one day using patrol vessels and coastal rescue boats," and added, "We will do our utmost to ensure that emergency patients in island regions can receive prompt treatment and are not placed in critical situations."
