500 Million KRW Provided to Five District Family Centers

View original imageGwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Park Cheolhong, hereinafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on the 4th that it has provided 500 million KRW to bridge the opportunity gap for youth with migrant backgrounds.
As part of the "2023 Project to Bridge the Opportunity Gap for Youth with Migrant Backgrounds, Year 2," Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae has provided 100 million KRW each to family centers in the five districts of Gwangju, totaling 500 million KRW.
This support project had already provided 500 million KRW to the five district family centers in Gwangju last year for the first phase. Additional support has been provided this year to continue the project.
The funds delivered on this day will be used to support academic and career development for youth with migrant backgrounds living in Gwangju, including programs to improve learning abilities, career and academic consulting programs, and guardian academies.
Park Heungcheol, Secretary General of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae, stated, "We hope this project will help ensure that the cultural backgrounds of youth with migrant backgrounds do not lead to alienation or discrimination," and added, "We will continue to strive to support various marginalized groups in the Gwangju region."
