Daegu City to Hire 364 Public Officials This Year... 'Residence Restriction Requirement' Abolished
Daegu City confirmed the scale of new civil servant recruitment for 2025 as 364 people on the 3rd and announced detailed examination plans including the number of recruits by rank, exam schedule, and changes in the examination system.
This year, the number of new civil servants to be recruited by Daegu City is 364 across 25 job categories: 1 at grade 5 (general medical 1), 12 at grade 7 (general administration 2, veterinary 10), 335 at grade 9 (general administration and facilities, etc.), and 16 research and guidance positions.
This is an increase of 151 people (a 58% increase) compared to the previous year, and it is expected to provide new momentum to steadily promote ‘Daegu Innovation 100+1’ across all areas of city administration, including the construction of the TK New Airport, the cornerstone of Daegu’s future prosperity, and to leap forward as the second largest city on the Korean Peninsula through the administrative integration of Daegu and Gyeongbuk.
The number of recruits by job series is as follows: 1 medical officer at grade 5, 2 administrative officers at grade 7, 10 veterinary officers at grade 7, 56 administrative officers at grade 9, 40 tax officers, 9 IT officers, 19 social welfare officers, 5 librarians, 3 stenographers, 47 industrial officers, 3 agricultural officers, 13 green space officers, 1 medical technology officer, 8 environmental officers, 117 facility officers, 5 broadcasting and communication officers, 9 drivers, 6 health research officers, 8 environmental research officers, 1 veterinary research officer, and 1 rural guidance officer.
The first appointment written exam will be held on April 26 for 3 research job categories, the second appointment written exam on June 21 for 19 job categories including administrative grade 9, and the third appointment written exam on November 1 for 5 job categories including administrative grade 7 and technical high school graduates. The grade 5 medical officer recruitment will be announced separately.
This year, the ‘residence restriction removal’ policy, first implemented in July last year, will be applied to all three appointment exams to actively recruit outstanding talent nationwide. In addition, as the current grade 9 civil servant exam, which mainly focuses on memorization, is improved to an evaluation method that closely assesses thinking skills related to field duties, the Korean and English written exam times will each be extended by 5 minutes.
