Police Transfer Director of Defense Intelligence Agency in '12·3 Emergency Martial Law Incident'
The police announced that they have additionally sent Won Cheon-hee, Director of the Defense Intelligence Headquarters, as a suspect in connection with the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law Incident.'
A representative of the Special Investigation Unit of the National Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Headquarters told reporters on the 3rd, "The total number of suspects is 53: 28 government and ruling party officials, 20 military personnel, and 5 police officers." He added, "Among them, 8 have been sent to the prosecution, and 11 have been referred to the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials and the military prosecution."
It is known that Director Won met with former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun and Intelligence Command Commander Moon Sang-ho the day before the declaration of martial law.
Meanwhile, the police are investigating 99 people in relation to the Western District Court riot incident. Among them, 63 have been detained, and 36 are under investigation without detention.
