This training, conducted by the Hampyeong County Agricultural Technology Center on the 23rd, was attended by about 50 wheat farmers. Dr. Oh Youngjin from the Korea Institute of Agricultural Technology Advancement gave a lecture on cultivation techniques to improve protein content, which is the most important factor for milling wheat, in order to strengthen the quality competitiveness of domestic wheat and establish a stable production base.
The training focused on practical content such as techniques to enhance protein for high-quality wheat production, post-harvest management techniques, fertilizer application methods by growth stage to increase protein content, and drying and storage techniques to prevent quality deterioration after harvest.
One farmer said, "I learned a lot about farming techniques for producing high-quality wheat and the importance of post-harvest management," and added, "I will actively apply these practices to wheat production in the future."
Moon Jeongmo, Director of the Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "With the recent increase in demand for domestic wheat, improving quality is a very important task," and added, "Through this training, farmers will acquire the skills needed to stably produce high-protein wheat."
