‘Beep beep~’ The Mapo Circulation Train Bus started its first run energetically, emitting steam on Red Road.


Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) held the unveiling ceremony and test ride of the ‘Mapo Circulation Train Bus’ on the afternoon of the 25th at Red Road R2.


The ‘Mapo Circulation Train Bus’ is a unique project of Mapo-gu that connects 11 major commercial districts and tourist attractions, designed to revitalize the alleyway commercial areas.


The event was graced by about 500 attendees, including Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Baek Nam-hwan, Chairperson of Mapo-gu Council, Mapo-gu council members, local residents, and foreigners.


Additionally, popular singer Jeong Dong-won attended specially to celebrate the birth of the ‘Mapo Circulation Train Bus,’ adding more significance to the event.


The unveiling ceremony opened with a lively performance by Rap Percussion, followed by the opening declaration, a commemorative speech by Park Gang-su, congratulatory speeches by guests, viewing of a promotional video, and an MOU signing.


Afterwards, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Jeong Dong-won, and other participants announced the successful launch of the ‘Mapo Circulation Train Bus’ with an unveiling performance.


The final part of the unveiling ceremony featured an enthusiastic stage by singer Jeong Dong-won, capturing the attention of residents and tourists on Red Road.


After the ceremony, Park Gang-su and the participants actually boarded the ‘Mapo Circulation Train Bus’ and toured every corner of Mapo-gu. They first departed for Yeonnam-dong’s Kkirikkiri-gil to watch a violin busking performance, then moved to Hapjeong Sky Road to enjoy a performance using cotton candy.

The ‘Mapo Circulation Train Bus’ concluded the test ride by moving from Sky Road to Red Road R5, where a band performance was held.


Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “With the belief that ‘good roads revive the economy,’ we created the ‘Mapo Circulation Train Bus’ connecting 11 major commercial districts and attractions in Mapo-gu. We will operate it well so that every place the bus passes becomes a hot place, revitalizing alleyway commerce and spreading smiles among people.”


The ‘Mapo Circulation Train Bus,’ which circulates through 17 attractions in Mapo-gu, will operate at a reasonable fare of 5,500 won. Passengers will be able to transfer freely throughout the day and experience the charm of Mapo-gu.


Mapo-gu plans to conduct a pilot operation of the ‘Mapo Circulation Train Bus’ in February before starting full-scale operation.
