Namwon City to Launch 'Senior Job Program' Starting Next Month

5,264 Participants in Senior Employment Project
Namwon City in North Jeolla Province will launch a senior employment project starting next month.
According to the city on the 23rd, this year's project has secured 5,264 jobs, an increase of 429 compared to the previous year, with an investment of 23 billion KRW.
The project consists of four types: ▲4,103 participants in public interest activities supporting social engagement ▲930 participants in senior capability utilization projects leveraging their experience ▲173 participants in community business groups generating income through small store operations ▲20 participants in private company job placement support and 38 dedicated staff. A total of seven organizations, including the Namwon Senior Club, will carry out these projects.

View original imageThrough the senior employment project kickoff ceremony, participants are expected to receive education to enhance their understanding of the project and prevent safety accidents, ensuring safe and effective activities.
Especially this year, the city will expand highly effective positions such as the existing Senior Care Hongbanjang and Senior Center Assistants, and newly launch five projects including support for senior waste collectors, emergency safety monitoring teams, and patrol teams for electric vehicle protection zones in public parking lots.
Mayor Choi Kyungsik said, "It is very meaningful that the number of participants in this senior employment project has greatly increased," and added, "We will expand job opportunities and discover various new projects to promote continuous social participation and relieve the economic burden of seniors, making every effort to enhance senior welfare."
