This effort has been highly evaluated for laying the foundation for sustainable urban development and enhancing competitiveness.
In particular, Yeongju was the first in the nation to introduce a private expert system (Yeongju City Urban Architecture Management Group) and has continuously worked to integrate and coordinate various projects that were previously pursued individually. This systematic approach has led to selection in numerous central government competitions, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's New Village Competition, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' Saetteul Village Project, and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Regional Balanced Development Project.
Currently, Yeongju City is preparing a second urban architecture master plan to establish itself as a new model for small and medium-sized cities in the era of population decline. This master plan focuses on building an urban structure that links the functions of key hubs within the city and efficiently utilizes space, aiming for 'compact-network strengthening.'
