Submission Deadline is Midnight on the 23rd
Winners to Be Announced in March
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 22nd that it will hold the '2025 Donghaeng Festival Character Contest' to develop a new mascot for the Donghaeng Festival.
The Donghaeng Festival is a consumption promotion campaign held through cooperation among the government, local governments, and private companies to boost sales and promote the sales of small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners. This year, it will be held four times annually in March, May, September, and December.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to select a character symbolizing the Donghaeng Festival through this event so that the public can feel familiar with the festival. There will be a total of four winners: the grand prize winner will receive 5 million KRW, the excellence award winner 3 million KRW, and two encouragement award winners will each receive 1 million KRW.
The submission period is two days, on the 22nd and 23rd, and to ensure fairness in judging, experts will evaluate the originality of the characters and their suitability for the contest. The final winners will be decided in March. The selected character designs will be used for promotional activities linked to private online and offline distribution channels and for producing Donghaeng Festival goods.
