The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) recently announced the winning design for the “Tentative Seosa Middle School New Construction Project,” which is planned to be established in the Beomseo-eup area of Ulju-gun, Ulsan.
A total of four entries were submitted for this design competition, and on the 13th, the joint submission by YP Design Group Architects and Mir Architects was selected as the final winning design through the evaluation process.
The winning design, themed “Seosa Middle School full of learning that embraces nature and grows together with the local community,” was highly praised for proposing an active educational space where students can communicate and share experiences.
The grand prize was awarded to ING Group Architects and MPT Engineering Architects, and the excellence award went to Migeon Architects. The honorable mention was given to the joint entry by Biyul Architects and Jinsol Architects.
Seosa Middle School will have a total floor area of approximately 13,010㎡ and consist of four above-ground floors, with completion targeted for March 2028.
