Yangju City Provides Up to 1.8 Million KRW Support for Aging Water Pipe Upgrades
Up to 600,000 KRW for Common Piping,
and 1,800,000 KRW for Indoor Drainage Pipes Provided
Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 20th that it has been implementing the ‘Rust-Free Home Water Pipe Improvement Project’ from this month to supply clean and safe tap water.
This project aims to improve old water pipes that cause rust water, providing citizens with a comfortable water usage environment. The support targets are multi-family housing, single-family houses, and multi-household houses under 130㎡ that have been completed for more than 20 years.
The support scale is differentiated by the ratio of the standard total construction cost according to the housing area (90% for 60㎡ or less, 80% for 85㎡ or less, 30% for 130㎡ or less), and basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income classes can receive full support for construction costs.
The maximum support amount is 600,000 KRW for common piping and 1,800,000 KRW for indoor drainage pipes. In the case of multi-family housing, support is provided separately for common piping and indoor water supply pipe construction. However, the project may end early if the budget is exhausted.
Applications for the project can be made through the Waterworks Department’s Waterworks Project Team of Yangju City. After reviewing the application, the responsible official will visit the site to conduct a water quality test and notify whether the applicant is eligible for support.
