Miryang City Launches Public Transportation Fare Refund Support... Full Implementation of Gyeongnam Pass
100% Public Transportation Fare Refund
for Low-Income Citizens Aged 75 and Older
Miryang City in Gyeongnam Province will officially implement the Gyeongnam-type public transportation fare refund support project (Gyeongnam Pass) in 2025 to reduce the transportation cost burden for citizens using public transportation.
The Gyeongnam Pass expands support in connection with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's K-Pass project, and citizens currently using the existing K-Pass card will automatically receive Gyeongnam Pass benefits without a separate application.
The Gyeongnam Pass provides support to citizens aged 19 and older who use public transportation (city buses, village buses, subways, etc.) at least 15 times per month. Youth (ages 19?39) receive a 30% refund, general citizens (ages 40?74) receive 20%, multi-child families (two or more children) receive 30?50%, and low-income groups receive 100%. In particular, seniors aged 75 and older can receive a 100% refund even if they use public transportation only once a month.
Citizens without a K-Pass card can receive benefits by issuing a new K-Pass card and registering as a member through the K-Pass app or website before using public transportation. Card issuance is available by visiting banks (NongHyup, Hana, Kookmin, Woori, Industrial, Shinhan) or card companies (NongHyup, Shinhan, Woori, Hana, Hyundai, Samsung, BC, Lee Dong-ui Jeulgeoum).
If membership registration is difficult, citizens can visit the nearest administrative welfare center or contact the civil service call center with their K-Pass card, mobile phone registered under their name, and ID card for assistance.
