Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon sent a letter of condolence to Los Angeles (LA), California, USA, which suffered damage from a large wildfire, on the 13th.
According to Seoul City on the 15th, Mayor Oh wrote a letter to Karen Bass, Mayor of LA, stating, "LA is a precious city that has maintained a long-standing friendly relationship with Seoul," and "On behalf of the citizens of Seoul, I sincerely extend my heartfelt condolences to all those suffering from this disaster."
In particular, Mayor Oh expressed, "I sincerely hope that the affected residents will return to peaceful daily life as soon as possible," and requested special attention and support for the Korean community affected. He also added, "Natural disasters are a common challenge that the whole world must solve together," and "Seoul is always ready to cooperate in LA's journey to overcome this disaster and become a safer and more resilient city."
