"President Yoon's Walk at the Residence, a Kind of Warning"
With the execution of the arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk-yeol imminent, Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, said, "Even if the president feels wronged, the way to prevent a bloodshed is to just come forward confidently and appear in person."
On the 14th, Ahn said on SBS Radio's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show,' "The court will execute the warrant, and in the meantime, there could be violent clashes between police forces, the security office, and public authorities." He added, "At such a critical time, if the people quarrel in front of the residence, it could lead to bloodshed. Especially when almost a battle is taking place between public authorities, I think it is also a leader's virtue to quell such situations."
Regarding the footage released by some media showing President Yoon taking a walk at the residence, Ahn analyzed, "I think it is a kind of warning against the Corruption Investigation Office and the police trying to enter the residence." He said, "I interpreted it as 'If you enter the residence, bloodshed could really occur. To prevent such misfortune, do not force entry.'" He emphasized, "The president may feel wronged in many ways, but to prevent scenes of bloodshed and conflict among public authorities, citizens, and supporters, I hope he voluntarily appears and comes out confidently."
Meanwhile, the first formal hearing of President Yoon's impeachment trial ended in four minutes. The Constitutional Court held the first hearing of President Yoon's impeachment trial at 2 p.m. that day but ended the trial around 2:04 p.m. after only confirming the attendance of both parties and their representatives.
