Cheonan to Begin Charging for Parking at Sports Complex and Citizen Sports Park by Year-End
500 KRW Charged for Every 30 Minutes After First 2 Hours of Parking
Cheonan City in Chungnam Province announced on the 14th that starting at the end of the year, parking lots at the General Sports Complex and the Citizen Sports Park will become paid in order to address parking shortages.
According to the city, the paid parking lots include 8 auxiliary lots at the General Sports Complex with 1,162 spaces and 3 auxiliary lots at the Citizen Sports Park with 275 spaces, totaling 1,437 spaces.
The operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. Parking is free for the first two hours, and then 500 KRW is charged for every additional 30 minutes.
The city plans to analyze the usage rate of vehicles in the paid parking lots and consider building a parking tower based on the results.
