Trump Inauguration Event Unveiled... From Fireworks to Prayer Service
"Trump to Focus on National Unity with 'America First' Agenda"
The inauguration events for President-elect Donald Trump, scheduled over four days starting on the 18th (local time), have been revealed. Beginning with fireworks at Trump’s golf club, the events will include a rally of supporters, a ball, and conclude the day after the inauguration with a prayer service.
According to the New York Times (NYT) on the 13th, Trump will kick off the inauguration events on the 18th by hosting a welcome reception and fireworks at his golf club in Sterling, Virginia, near Washington D.C. It is expected that around 500 donors, acquaintances, and supporters will attend. On the same day, a dinner event for Vice President-elect J.D. Vance will also take place.
Currently staying at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, Trump is scheduled to arrive in Washington D.C. via Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland before the first day’s events. The NYT explained, "This day will be the last time Trump flies on his personal plane, which has his name engraved in gold." U.S. presidents typically use the dedicated ‘Air Force One’ aircraft.
The following day, a wreath-laying ceremony for the Unknown Soldier is planned at Arlington National Cemetery. Afterwards, Trump will take the stage at the ‘MAGA (Make America Great Again) Victory Rally’ held at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. The Village People, known for performing Trump’s favorite song ‘Y.M.C.A’, are scheduled to perform at the rally.
On the inauguration day, the 20th, the day will begin with a service at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Then, after having tea with President Joe Biden at the White House, Trump and Vice President-elect Vance will take the oath of office together at noon. Following Trump’s oath and inaugural address, opera singer Christopher Macchio will perform the U.S. national anthem.

Holding the nominee signing ceremony there is a tradition dating back to former President Ronald Reagan in 1981. The events will then continue with a joint congressional luncheon, military review and parade down Pennsylvania Avenue, a signing ceremony in the White House office, and three balls.
On the final morning of the 21st, the National Prayer Service will be held to conclude all events. The National Prayer Service is an interdenominational tradition dating back to the early founding of the United States, praying for the success and unity of the nation as a new government begins.
