Jeju Samdasoo Awarded Highest '3-Star' Rating for 8 Consecutive Years at International Taste & Quality Institute
Honored with 3 Stars for 8 Consecutive Years at the ITI Tasting Awards, a First for a Korean Brand
Jeju Samdasoo announced on the 14th that it has been awarded the highest rating of '3 Stars' for the eighth consecutive year at the '2025 International Taste & Quality Institute (ITI) Awards.'
Jeju Samdasoo was the first domestic drinking water brand to receive the ITI 3 Stars in 2018. It subsequently won the 'Crystal Taste Award' in 2020 and the 'Diamond Taste Award' in 2024, gaining global recognition for its world-class quality and water taste. This year, it continued to earn the highest rating for the eighth consecutive year, maintaining the trust of international taste experts. Jeju Samdasoo is the only brand in the domestic food and beverage industry to have won the international superior taste award for eight consecutive years.
The International Taste & Quality Institute (ITI), established in 2005 in Brussels, Belgium, is a global food and beverage taste evaluation organization. Approximately 200 taste experts selected from over 20 European countries conduct blind tests to evaluate products. The judging criteria consist of five categories: first impression, visual, smell, taste, and aftertaste. To receive the highest rating of 3 Stars, a product must score 90 points or higher.
Jeju Samdasoo’s exceptional water taste begins with the pristine single water source of Hallasan Mountain and strict quality control. Rainwater that seeps through volcanic scoria layers at an altitude of over 1,450 meters removes impurities over a long period, enriching the water with minerals beneficial to health such as calcium, potassium, vanadium, and silica. This process results in Jeju Samdasoo’s soft and clean water taste.
Additionally, Jeju Development Corporation was the first in the industry to be designated as a drinking water quality testing institution by the Ministry of Environment, verifying its advanced water quality analysis system. It has also earned the highest rating for six consecutive years in the international proficiency evaluation by the Environmental Resource Association (ERA) in the United States. In 2024, Jeju Samdasoo was nationally recognized for its quality competitiveness by being selected as an excellent company in the National Quality Competitiveness Awards for three consecutive years, a first in the industry.
The eight consecutive years of ITI 3 Stars awards prove Jeju Samdasoo’s commitment to quality philosophy and global competitiveness. With an unchanging water taste and quality for 27 years since its launch, Jeju Samdasoo has built consumer trust and continues to uphold its unique value as a representative bottled water brand of South Korea.
