High-Protein Nutritional Food 'Dongwon Tuna' That Has Protected the Nation's Table for 42 Years
Over 200 Million Cans Sold Annually Since First Launch in 1982
Annual Sales Exceed 500 Billion KRW
Dongwon F&B's Dongwon Tuna has been a representative Korean food loved by consumers for 42 years since its first domestic launch in December 1982, never losing its number one position. Dongwon Tuna sells over 200 million cans annually and records sales exceeding 500 billion KRW each year, establishing itself as a national staple food. As of 2023, the cumulative sales volume has surpassed 7.6 billion cans.
Dongwon F&B continuously innovates by launching various Dongwon Tuna products that align with changing food culture trends. Last year, it launched the plant-based alternative food brand 'MyPlant' and introduced a total of five products, including one Dongwon Tuna MyPlant can and four pouches. Dongwon Tuna MyPlant is made from 100% plant-based ingredients, contains 0% cholesterol, and includes plant-based protein. It also reduces calorie burden. While increasing dietary fiber content that can help with blood sugar control, the calories are reduced by up to 31% compared to conventional lean tuna products.
Additionally, they released 'Dongwon MatCham,' a high-protein rice thief flavored with sesame oil. Dongwon MatCham is a product enhanced with savory sesame oil and a special sauce for umami flavor. While typical lean tuna cans are suitable for various cooking uses such as stews or stir-fries, Dongwon MatCham is perfectly flavored with sesame oil soaked in, making it ideal to eat directly with rice without additional cooking. 'Dongwon MatCham' contains about 76% lean meat and is a high-protein food with approximately 24g of protein per 135g can. One can provides nearly half of the daily recommended protein intake.
