Songpa-gu, Gift of 'Agiga Jago Isseoyo' for Newborn Celebration
Celebratory Gifts for Families Registering Births in Songpa-gu from January
Seo Gang-seok, Songpa-gu Mayor: "We Will Make Songpa a Great Place for Healthy Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Parenting"
Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that starting from January this year, it plans to create special birth celebration gifts and deliver them to households that have registered births in Songpa-gu.
The district specially produced birth celebration items this year. Reflecting ideas received through the National Petition System, such as making door signs to discourage ringing the doorbell so that sleeping babies are not startled by external noise, the gifts consist of essential childcare items needed after a baby’s birth.
The four items provided include ▲an acrylic sign for the front door with the phrase “Baby is sleeping” encouraging doorbell restraint, ▲a vehicle sticker saying “Baby on board,” known as a must-have childcare item, ▲premium portable wet wipes, and ▲baby ear waterproof tape needed during baby baths.
This project targets families who have registered a birth this year and have their resident registration in Songpa-gu. Distribution is allocated differentially across 27 neighborhoods based on local birth statistics, and the birth celebration items will be supported until supplies run out.
In addition, the district alleviates the economic burden on families with newborns through various supports such as △First Meeting Voucher △Parental Allowance △Child Allowance △Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi, among others.
Also, through the Songpa Maternal Health Promotion Center, comprehensive care services are provided from pregnancy to childbirth and childcare, including △Infertility Counseling Room △Prenatal Education Classes △Our Baby Care Classes.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “This congratulatory gift carries a message wishing for the healthy growth of babies and supporting parents to have a happy childcare experience,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to create a birth-friendly social atmosphere that makes it good to have and raise children by strengthening support before and after childbirth.”
