Gwangju FC Signs Promising Young Striker Lee Jaehwan
Gwangju FC of the K League 1 announced on the 11th that they have signed striker prospect Lee Jaehwan (18), who has experience playing for various age-group national teams.
Lee Jaehwan, who previously played for Gwangseong Middle School and Daegun High School, is a left-footed striker known for his powerful play in front of goal, boasting an impressive physique at 191cm and 82kg.
Despite his height, he is also known for his speed, with dribbling being highlighted as one of his key strengths.
While in his third year at Gwangseong Middle School, Lee Jaehwan drew attention by scoring 12 goals in the K League Junior, becoming the top scorer in Group A for the first half of the season. In 2023, he further raised his profile by being selected for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-17 Asian Cup national team, helping the team achieve a runner-up finish.
Lee Jaehwan stated, "It is a great honor to be able to make my professional debut with Gwangju, and my goal is to record at least 10 attacking points. I will do my best to show great performances to the fans as soon as possible."
