Jeju Air Passenger Plane Disaster Victims Remembered with Condolences
Choi Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group, emphasized on the 3rd that "SK possesses the technology and partnership capabilities necessary to expand its artificial intelligence (AI) business on a global scale."
In a post on the social networking service (SNS) 'LinkedIn' on the same day, Chairman Choi stated, "Every year at the end of December, we take time to reflect on the past year and reaffirm SK's commitment to the roadmap for the new year."
He explained, "The business environment has faced unprecedented challenges due to geopolitical uncertainties and the rapid growth of the AI industry. Despite these difficulties, the unwavering dedication and efforts of SK members in Korea and around the world have been a great force in building the foundation for a swift rebound."
Chairman Choi said, "By integrating SK's energy solution capabilities, we will provide a comprehensive support system to the AI value chain, including customers and partners in key areas such as AI data centers, while continuously creating new business opportunities. Pioneering efforts and innovation never happen without challenges. At this critical moment looking toward the future, we must act and push forward the roadmap regardless of any obstacles," he stressed.
He also expressed his determination, saying, "We will take the lead, show courage, and move forward so that we can advance together toward a brighter tomorrow."

Recalling last year as a "difficult time," Chairman Choi also expressed condolences for the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster. He said, "2024 has been a difficult period, including the tragic accident that recently occurred at Muan Airport. I extend my deepest condolences to the victims and sincere sympathy to the bereaved families who are grieving." Earlier, on the 1st, Chairman Choi visited the joint memorial altar for the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident set up in front of the Seoul City Hall main building.
