Former Gwangju City Council Member Dies in Prison Before Serving Sentence for Bribery
A former Gwangju City Council member, who had been serving a prison sentence after being convicted in the first trial for bribery related to the 'purchase-type project' of converting private kindergartens into public ones, has died.
According to Gwangju Correctional Institution and other sources on the 3rd, the former council member, referred to as A, complained of chest pain due to myocardial infarction on the morning of the previous day. He was transported to a hospital and underwent emergency surgery, but passed away during the procedure.
