Namyangju City Expands to 31 Institutions Providing Developmental Rehabilitation and Language Development Support Services
Gyeonggi Namyangju City (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 31st that it has designated 31 institutions to provide developmental rehabilitation and language development support services for families with disabilities and children.
The developmental rehabilitation support service provides therapy to improve mental and sensory functions such as cognition, communication, adaptive behavior, sensory and motor skills, and behavioral development for growing children with disabilities.
The language development support service is a project that provides necessary language rehabilitation and auditory rehabilitation services to children of parents with sensory disabilities.
A total of 31 service provider institutions were designated this time, and they will operate from 2025 to 2027. In particular, newly designated institutions have been added in Wabu-eup, Onam-eup, and Byeollae-dong, so it is expected that children with disabilities and their families in the region will be able to receive various services closer to home.
Kim Il-nyeo, Director of the Disability Welfare Division, said, “Through the expansion of developmental rehabilitation and language development support service providers, families with disabilities and children will be able to receive professional and diverse support closer to home,” adding, “We will continue to actively reflect the needs of the local community and strive to provide more efficient services.”
