BPA President Kang Joon-seok Launches Special Safety Inspection for Serious Accident Prevention
Busan Port Authority (BPA) conducted a special safety inspection to prevent major accidents during the year-end and New Year period at the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal on the 30th.
This inspection was urgently carried out to ensure the safety of Busan Port users and port workers, as Busan Port could not be an exception in relation to the Jeju Air passenger plane accident that occurred at Muan International Airport.
Key officials of Busan Port Authority, including President Kang Jun-seok, directly checked potential risk factors in the Bukhang, Gamcheon Port, and New Port areas, as well as the overall safety of Busan Port through the emergency special safety inspection.
In particular, on this day, President Kang Jun-seok personally inspected the flow of passengers at the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal, a multi-use facility, following the sequence of the waiting room, departure hall, boarding and disembarking area, and arrival hall, focusing on major risk factors that could cause serious accidents such as drowning, fire, and building collapse.
President Kang Jun-seok of BPA said, “As this is a time when strict safety management is nationally required, we will thoroughly manage safety so that Busan Port users can use port facilities safely.”
