Applicants must be local farmers or agricultural corporations registered with agricultural management information, and the amount eligible for application varies depending on the crop cultivation area.
Project recipients will be finalized in February after on-site investigations, feasibility reviews of project plans, and deliberations by the Agricultural Policy Subcommittee. Selected farms will receive 50% support for the purchase cost of agricultural sawdust and woodchips produced by the Paju City Forestry Cooperative.
Lee Tae-sung, Director of the Agricultural Policy Division, said, "Using sawdust as compost can simultaneously improve soil quality and prevent weeds," adding, "We hope that through this project, the use of forest by-products will increase instead of vinyl, spreading eco-friendly low-carbon agriculture."
