Geumcheon-gu Operates Joint Memorial Altar for Jeju Air Disaster
Joint Memorial Altar Set Up in Geumcheon-gu Office 1st Floor Lobby... Open Until 10 PM on January 4
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it has set up a joint memorial altar to mourn the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident that occurred at Muan International Airport on the 29th.
The district prepared a joint memorial altar in the lobby on the first floor of Geumcheon-gu Office to mourn the victims of the disaster and to facilitate the condolences of the residents. Condolences will begin on the 31st and will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. until January 4th.
In addition, staff will be stationed at all times to assist visitors so that they do not experience any inconvenience.
The district decided to cancel large-scale local events and festivals during the national mourning period, including the ‘Hoapsa New Year's Bell Ringing Ceremony’ scheduled to be held from 10:30 p.m. on the 31st, and to simplify unavoidable ceremonial events.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, “I pray for the souls of those who lost their lives in this tragic accident, and I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families who must be in great shock and sorrow.”
