Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) was selected as an outstanding institution for performance improvement in the '2024 Self-Audit Activity Review' conducted by the Board of Audit and Inspection and received a commendation from the Chairman of the Board.
The Board of Audit and Inspection conducts annual reviews of self-audit activities and internal controls targeting central administrative agencies, local governments, and public institutions to enhance the appropriateness of self-audit organization operations and strengthen internal control systems.
This year's review evaluated a total of 677 institutions, including 236 institutions for on-site audits and 441 institutions for document audits, based on three areas and ten detailed indicators: ▲the level of support for the institution's self-audit organization (support for internal control across the institution), ▲the composition and staffing level of the self-audit organization, and ▲the performance of self-audit activities.
In particular, the district achieved remarkable improvement in audit capabilities compared to the previous year in two of the three areas: ▲the composition and staffing level of the self-audit organization and ▲the performance of self-audit activities. Among 36 basic local governments in city units nationwide with populations over 300,000, Jungnang-gu ranked first in performance improvement and was honored as an 'Outstanding Institution for Performance Improvement.'
