Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, announced that it will cancel the ‘2025 Provincial Unity New Year Bell-Ringing Ceremony’ scheduled for 10 PM on the 31st, following the government’s declaration of a seven-day national mourning period until the 4th of next month due to the passenger plane accident at Muan International Airport on the 29th.
On the morning of the 30th, Yeongdeok-gun decided this through an executive meeting to mourn the victims and align with the national sentiment.
County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol said, “We express our condolences to those who lost their lives in this tragic accident and offer our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families.”
