Gyeonggi-do to Introduce 'Resident Audit Request System' on the 30th
Gyeonggi Province will implement the 'Resident Audit Request System' starting from the 30th to protect the rights and interests of residents and enhance administrative transparency.
The Resident Audit Request System is similar to the resident audit system, allowing residents to directly request an audit from the government regarding administrative tasks handled by Gyeonggi Province or its cities and counties. Applications can be made by residents aged 18 or older with at least 50 joint signatures (including foreigners) or by representatives of civic groups submitting a request to the Gyeonggi Province Resident Rights Commission.
The representative of the applicants must meet the application requirements and submit the list of applicants and the resident audit request form to the commission. The commission then verifies the signatures on the applicant list and decides whether to conduct the audit through deliberation.
The commission will review and decide on the audit results within 60 days from the date the decision to conduct the audit is made. The audit results will be notified to the representative of the applicants and disclosed on the commission’s website.
