View original imageAccording to the Fire Department and others, flight 7C2216 of Jeju Air, which departed from Bangkok Airport in Thailand and was attempting to land at Muan Airport that morning, had a total of 181 people on board, including 6 crew members, 173 Korean passengers, and 2 Thai passengers.
The accident occurred around 9:03 a.m. when the aircraft crashed while attempting to land on the runway at Muan International Airport. The aircraft collided with the outer wall of the runway, breaking in half and catching fire.
The fire authorities have so far rescued one passenger and one crew member. Starting the search from the rear of the aircraft, they have confirmed 28 fatalities and are currently identifying additional casualties.
