Fire in Single-Story Hanok House in Jongno-gu... 80-Year-Old Grandmother and 7-Year-Old Grandson Die
A fire broke out in a hanok building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, resulting in the deaths of a grandmother and her grandson.
According to fire authorities on the 27th, the fire occurred around 5 p.m. at a single-story hanok in Changsin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. The fire was extinguished around 8:31 p.m., approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes after it started, but an elderly woman in her 80s and her 7-year-old grandson were found dead inside the house.
Two family members and one tenant were rescued and transported to the hospital.
