View original imageThe National Pukyong University Library (Director Kim Eun-il) held the '2024 Academic Year Library Mileage Scholarship Award Ceremony' on December 23rd at the Marine Humanities Materials Room in the Academic Information Center.
The Library Mileage Scholarship program grants mileage points to students based on their participation in book borrowing and library programs, and awards scholarships to outstanding library users who accumulate the most mileage points over the year.
The National Pukyong University Library awards mileage points not only for students' borrowing records of print books and e-books but also for participation in library education, cultural events, surveys, reading clubs, submission of book reviews, and facility usage.
On this day, student Kim Mi-hyun (majoring in Accounting and Finance) earned the highest score throughout the year by accumulating a total of 677 mileage points through print book borrowing, e-book borrowing, participation in cultural events, library education, and book review contests, receiving the grand prize scholarship of 1 million KRW.
Additionally, two students selected for the Excellence Award received scholarships of 800,000 KRW each, five students for the Merit Award received 500,000 KRW each, and 57 students for the Encouragement Award received between 200,000 and 400,000 KRW, with a total of 65 students receiving scholarships amounting to 20 million KRW.

Since launching this program in 2016, the National Pukyong University Library plans to continue promoting library usage and reading culture by quantitatively and qualitatively improving the program going forward.
